Local Parks

The Coalition is currently asking the state legislature to sustain $100 million for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) in the capital construction budget.

WWRP Local Parks grants fund the acquisition, development and renovation of neighborhood parks, ball fields, skate parks, swimming pools and other recreation areas.

Since 1990, the Coalition has secured over $84 million for cities, counties and park districts in Washington State for 331 Local Park projects, leveraging $218 million in local matching funds.
