Local Parks

Thanks to the hard work of Coalition members across the state, the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition was successful in securing $42 million in the 2011-13 capital budget to fund over 60 projects towards the preservation of wildlife habitat, the protection of working farms and the creation of parks and ballfields in communities across Washington.

WWRP Local Parks grants fund the acquisition, development and renovation of neighborhood parks, ball fields, skate parks, swimming pools and other recreation areas.

Since 1990, the Coalition has secured over $97.5 million for cities, counties and park districts in Washington State for 366 Local Park projects, leveraging over $218 million in local matching funds.

Below are lists and a map of proposed and funded WWRP projects.
