Kiwanis Park Development

Mount Vernon will use this grant to develop Kiwanis Park. The park will include an extensive wetland trails system around a basketball court, a Little League field, a multi-purpose field, as well as a restroom, barbecue area, and picnic shelter. The park is in the center of the residential area of the city. Historically there has been very little park development in this area. Mount Vernon will contribute $400,000 in cash and donations of cash.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
