RADIO: WWRP Grant Application May 1st

141-millions dollars of grant money is available to those interested in applying for Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program funding.

May 1st is the application deadline for cities...counties...nonprofits and local park districts with needed funds for recreation and conservation projects.

The WWRP grant has funded projects for parks...trail sites...wildlife habitats and farms.

WWRP Outreach Director Tom Bugert says the city of Wenatchee has already utilized 20-million dollars of grant money.

Bugert says the WWRP is not only critical for the protection of Washington's natural heritage but also plays a key role in the state's recreation economy.
