The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This project would expand Wards Lake Park by 2/3 an acre, providing an ideal location for parking and other park amenities at the park entrance. Wards Lake will be developed primarily as a passive facility, with a focus on walking trails, picnicking areas, a viewing pier/platform, restrooms, a multi-use field, parking, and a large playground area. The park will be designed to take advantage of Wards Lake’s greatest assets – the lake itself and the numerous mature trees and other vegetation at this peaceful and beautiful location.
