The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This project will develop an existing undeveloped neighborhood park property into a 14-acre developed park. The property is in an area of Tacoma that is currently deficient in park space.This parcel was recently purchased with a 1998 Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program grant from IAC. The Wapato Hills Task Force has been meeting for over three years on the project.When developed, the neighborhood park will provide a variety of outdoor recreation amenities that include; grass ballfields/ play space, playground equipment, basketball court, spray pool, restroom, accessible parking, trails and picnic sites.
