Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
This project is the last phase of development under the “1990 Tiger Mountain State Forest Recreation Plan.” A trailhead, parking, rest stop, five miles of trail, and one mile of barrier-free interpretive trail are provided. Part of a cooperative initiative for the Issaquah Alps by the City of Issaquah, King County, State Parks, and DNR, the trails will provide educational opportunities, backcountry experiences, and provide final links in the forest’s trail system, serving hiking, equestrian, and mountain bicycling users.
