Conserving land along our waterways protects important habitat and helps keep our rivers healthy, clean, and more resilient to drought. Riparian Protection projects conserve and restore fresh and saltwater habitat while protecting fish habitat. In doing so, the grants help provide our families, farms, and fisheries with clean water across the state.
Project Highlights
Edmonds will use this grant to buy and preserve .23 acre along Shell Creek for wildlife habitat. Combined with 3 acres of wetland and the adjacent 48-acre Yost Park, this property provides an important wildlife link that is highly visible to the community. The land contains a number of important habitat features such as wetlands, woodlands, and stream habitat for a variety of species. Edmonds will contribute $106,356.
