Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.

Project Highlights

Within Clark County’s 700-acre Salmon Creek Greenway, located three miles north of Vancouver, this project developed a 3.5-mile pedestrian/bike trail and a 1.7- mile equestrian trail paralleling Salmon Creek.

Location Details

Three miles north of the city of Vancouver between I-5 and NW 36th Avenue within the 3.5 Mile Long Salmon Creek Basin. Access from Klineline Ponds - Highway 99 to West on NE 117th., West of I-5. The west end of the trail is accessed at the trailhead at NW 36th Ave.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
