The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The City of Wenatchee used this grant to purchase the 325-acre Saddle Rock property, located adjacent to the City’s urban growth boundary in South Wenatchee. The acquisition has expanded the public land holding in the Wenatchee Foothills. The primary recreation opportunity provided by the project is passive use, including non-motorized trails for activites ranging from show shoe hikes to equestrian uses to wildlife viewing and environmental education opportunities.
