Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
King County DNR and Parks will use this grant to developed phase II of Preston Mill Park. Preston Mill Park is located on Preston-Fall City Road SE between Upper Preston Road SE and SE 86th Street in Issaquah, King County. This project will allow King County DNR and Parks to expand access to the park by installing a restroom building and constructing two ADA parking stalls in the existing parking lot. The primary recreation opportunity provided by this project is outdoor recreation amenities.
