The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
Pierce County Public Works used the grant funding to build a playground in the North Meadow of Pierce County’s Chambers Creek Properties in University Place. The 12,000 square foot playground is one of the largest in the community and includes swings, tunnels, nets, bridges, slides, monkey bars, climbing walls and rocks. The playground includes elements that are ADA accessible with a segregated area for toddlers and a protective perimeter around the entire playground. A drinking fountain and bird sculptures were installed at the entrance. The playground provides active recreation for children aged 2-12.
