Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This project will significantly enhance a regional softball facility that serves two counties and seven communities. The lighting of these fields will provide Pasco the opportunity to schedule at least 42 more softball games a week thus maximizing the use of one of the best designed softball facilities in the state. The development of the six fields has been a partnership with the City in cooperation with the Franklin County, Pasco High School and Columbia Basin College. The playing field lights is the third and final phase of the development that started in 1998.
