The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

This project will provide an exciting recreational opportunity for Port Townsend youth. A permanent skate park facility will be constructed in place of the temporary skate park in use since 1994. The design will double the size of the park and incorporate a variety of elements. Additional amenities include bike racks, a drinking fountain and landscaping.

Location Details

From the Hood Canal Bridge heading west on SR 104, take a right turn onto SR 19 heading north, (approx. 5 miles). Follow SR 19 approximately 20 miles into the City of Port Townsend. At the City limits, SR 19 becomes Sims Way. Follow Sims Way approximately 1 1/2 miles until it intersects with Kearney St. At that point, Sims Way becomes Water St. Follow Water St. through the downtown retail district until it makes a left turn onto Monroe St. Make a left onto Monroe St. and the park site is on the right side of the intersection of Washington St. and Monroe St.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
