The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

Pierce County Parks and Centralia City Light propose to install a large play area at a boat launch site on the Nisqually River. The play area will include a swing, play apparatus, picnic table and trash container. The playground base, consisting of Fibar 300/drainage, will be 12″deep. Rubber mats will be installed at the slide areas for better accessibility.

Location Details

Spanaway-McKenna Highway to the northwest and the Nisqually River to the southern boundary line. From Olympia going south on I-5, take the 510 turnoff to Yelm, going through Yelm and on to McKenna. As you cross the Nisqually River, Walt's Tavern is on the right-hand side. The property goes around Walt's place like a U.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
