McDonald Recreation Field Acquisition

Category Overview

Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

This project is the acquisition of 22 acres of open space for community recreational use. The project will enable Colfax to purchase land for critically needed multipurpose playing fields. Future development of play fields will give the community the only recreational fields of sufficient size that can be used without interference with other playing areas. The master plan for the site will help ensure that the final result will be consistent with the community’s needs and resources.
