The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This Project was completed in March of 2017 on schedule and in time for use during the 2017 Youth Baseball and Softball season. The work was completed within the allowed budget and grant funding limits. Two Change Orders were approved: one to excavate a 6 inch layer of unforeseen, unsuitable soil on Field 7; and a second to expand the handicap-accessible paving between the fields, and provide chainlink fencing along the sidelines between the fields to enhance protection of players and spectators. Both change orders were executed using the project contingency, which was included in the overall budget. The project achieved the intentions of the grant by extending the opportunities for public use, elimination of rainouts due to wet infield conditions, and improving handicap accessibility to the fields by providing asphalt paving between the fields.
