Washington is famous for its gorgeous and abundant waterways, from the Salish Sea to the Nisqually River, but many communities lack open public beaches and waterfronts where everyone can enjoy picnicking, swimming, paddling, boating, and angling. Water Access projects fund public shoreline access, boat launches, and fishing docks to create more opportunities for water recreation.

Project Highlights

This 100-acre acquisition project is located on the east fork of the Lewis River in north Clark County and enhances the county’s nearby park and trail facilities. The site provides opportunities for picnicking, hiking, swimming, and fishing on one of Washington State’s best steelhead streams.

Location Details

Project site is located on the East Fork of the Lewis River 1/2 mile east of I-5, beginning, and adjacent to Paradise Point State Park. Other entrance points include La Center Bottoms, Lucia Falls, and Moulton Falls. Properties are part of an interconnected, 10-mile greenway system on the East Fork Lewis (1032-acres).

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
