Project Highlights

The Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department utilized this grant to buy 72 acres located in southeast Olympia on Morse-Merryman Road immediately adjacent to LBA Park. This property is known locally as part of the LBA Woods. The City received a waiver to purchase the property and sought reimbursement through this grant. This grant funds only the acquisition of the property.

From I-5, take exit 107 for Pacific Avenue. Turn left onto Pacific Ave SE. In .3 mi turn right onto Fones Rd SE. In .6 mi at the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto 18th Ave SE. In 0.1 mi at the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto Hoffman Rd SE. In 1 mi turn right onto Morse-Merryman Rd SE. In .3 mi turn left into LBA Park. (The parcel fronts Morse-Merryman road immediately to the east of LBA Park. There is no parking along Morse-Merryman Road in front of the site. The best place to park is at LBA Park at 3333 Morse-Merryman Road SE.)

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
