The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This project will renovate an existing, outdated restroom and provide a much needed multipurpose picnic shelter to Kneeland Park. The restrooms will be improved to provide barrier-free access, improved maintenance practices, and improved aesthetics. The picnic shelter will provide a facility for large community events, family picnics, and outdoor concerts. The project will also include barrier-free paths to park amenities. Renovation of Kneeland Park has been a top priority on citizens’ surveys since 1989 and ranked first in the action programs for the City of Shelton’s Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plans for 1989 and 1997. Kneeland Park was donated to the City and originally developed by citizens in 1920.
