The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

VancouverParks and Recreation used this grant to acquire 2.4 acres formerly owned by the Vancouver School District, located in one of the older established neighborhoods of downtown Vancouver. The property serves as a neighborhood park and is fully developed. The primary outdoor recreation opportunity provided is for active play, picnicking, and walking.

Location Details

From I-5 south, take exit 1D for Fourth Plain Blvd. Get over into the far right lane when you exit and merge onto W. Fourth Plain Boulevard going west towards downtown Vancouver and the Port. Go west on W. Fourth Plain Boulevard for about 1 mile and turn left onto Kauffman Avenue at the traffic light (if you reach Fruit Valley Road, you’ve gone too far). Go south on Kauffman Avenue for two blocks. The park is on your left at 23rd Street. Latitude: 45 38' 16" Longitude: 122 40' 48"

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
