The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This acquisition will create a community park at the northeast corner of Vancouver’s urban growth boundary. Approximately 25,000 people live in the rapidly growing service area with no community park facilities. Because of the high need, both Vancouver and Clark County have identified Hockinson Park as the highest priority community park acquisition project in the entire Vancouver urban area. The property provides an excellent setting for community park improvements, such as trails, sports fields, open play meadows, picnic tables and shelters, parking, restrooms, and other support facilities.
