The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
Bremerton used this grant to develop an inclusive playground at Evergreen Rotary Park, located on the waterfront 1/4 mile east of State Highway 303, between downtown and Olympic College. These improvements created Bremerton and Kitsap County’s first fully accessible playground designed to provide play opportunities for all children regardless of ability. The project constructed a new playground in an existing park, added ADA parking spaces to the main parking area, and vegetation to the park’s shoreline. The primary recreational opportunity provided in this project is individual child and family play.
