Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
Ephrata plans to develop a 10,204 square foot zero-depth community pool and 25 yard long, six lane pool facility located between the Ephrata Sports Complex and Middle School. . The multi-use project will enhance a variety of safe summer recreation activities – swimming lessons, family picnic/play areas, and a food court. Features include a sand play area for young children; in-pool lily pads for children to walk across; a water play structure made of wheel and rope actuated valves that control water flow through various foundations, pipes, showers and waterfalls. Pool slides include a 200 ft. long fiberglass flume, 25 ft. high with steel support columns. The unique speed slide is a 190′ fiberglass flume set on the hillside. Park features include a shade arbor, numerous trees, other picnic shelters, and barbecues.
