Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

The project proposed in this application is varied and intended to offer outdoor recreation opportunities for all age groups. This Phase III project includes a skateboard park, basketball courts, grassy picnic area, and swim beach improvements. In addition to these specific elements, this phase of the project proposes enhancements to lighting, signage and safety. The combination of recreation elements is designed to encourage whole families to come to the park together and have something to enjoy and completes Phase III of the Cusick Comprehensive Park Plan.

From Spokane travel on Hwy 2 North, turn north on Hwy 211 toward Cusick. At the junction of Hwy 211 and 20, turn left (north). Upon entering the Town of Cusick turn right (east) on Monumental Ave. The Park is on the riverside of Monumental and First, behind the library and community center. What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
