Washington is famous for its gorgeous and abundant waterways, from the Salish Sea to the Nisqually River, but many communities lack open public beaches and waterfronts where everyone can enjoy picnicking, swimming, paddling, boating, and angling. Water Access projects fund public shoreline access, boat launches, and fishing docks to create more opportunities for water recreation.

The county purchased fee simple a shoreline property of 7.45 acres. It is currently open as a natural area park with limited development.

Location Details

Take Highway 101 west out of Port Angeles and travel 43 miles to the State Highway 113 exit at Sappho. Turn right onto Highway 113. After 10 miles the highway becomes State Route 112, a National Scenic Byway. Continue westbound on Highway 112 for another 6 miles. After entering the community of Clallam Bay, continue on the highway. The highway will take a 90 degree turn to the west (left), continue for another mile. As the Spring Tavern comes in to view on a rise to the right, take the driveway just before the tavern to the right and it will drop down to a dirt parking area.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
