The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

The Snohomish County Department of Parks and Recreation will use this grant to build a synthetic turf field in Carousel Ranch Community Park, in the town of Maltby. The field will support multiple sports including, baseball, softball, soccer, football, and lacrosse, as well as leisure play. The County also will add new lights and soccer nets. Snohomish County will contribute more than $1.5 million in cash and potentially a grant from the state Youth Athletic Facilities program.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
