The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park and Recreation District will use this grant to redevelop two soccer fields at Battle Point Park, the largest regional park on the island. Deteriorating drainage has made one field virtually unplayable. Redeveloping the fields will increase use, benefiting more than 2,000 local soccer and lacrosse players, and reduce maintenance.
