Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This project will include removal of the 44 year old outdated King County 20 stall shower and 24 stall restroom building and replacing it with an open plaza. The plaza includes ADA accessible restrooms and picnic shelter linked with a landscaped arbor with superb lake views. Other phase I improvements include a relocated street entry and exit, new playground area and equipment, and ADA parking for the beach and restrooms. Angle Lake Park is located .8 of a mile from SeaTac International Airport and is an existing 10 acre park with 371 feet of beach waterfront, on a 90-acre lake and a public boat launch. It is a historic park site that was established back to the late 1920’s.
