Description

This acquisition of an inholding on Burrows Island in Skagit County will provide a much-needed saltwater boater access site near the San Juan Islands. The potential exists to develop Burrows Island into a major boater access recreational facility for both overnight and day use. A small portion of the purchase has been recommended for inclusion in a 182 acre natural area preserve.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
