Water Access
The Coalition requests that the legislature appropriate $90 million in the 2013-15 capital budget to fund over 100 projects towards the preservation of wildlife habitat, the protection of working farms and the creation of neighborhood parks and ballfields in communities across Washington.
WWRP Water Access grants fund public access to beaches, lakes, and rivers for fishing, swimming and non-motorized boating. At least 75% of funds in this category are for for acquisition; 25% or less are for development.
Since 1990, the Coalition has secured $48 million in state grants plus over $53 million in local matches for 102 Water Access sites.
Below are lists and a map of proposed and funded WWRP projects. You can see how WWRP funded boat projects have played a key role in the boating facilities around the state on this useful map by the Recreation and Conservation Office.
