King County will use this grant to purchase the development rights on 31 acres of pastureland to permanently preserve them for farming. The property is part of the largest dairy in King County and is used for corn and silage production. Located in south King County, the farm has prime soils. Although traditionally an agricultural community, the Enumclaw Plateau is becoming a mix of active farms and ""scenic"" farms. The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
