Wicks Lake Expansion

Kitsap County seeks to add to its existing waterfront facility at Wicks Lake. Wicks Lake Park is located in the southwest portion of Kitsap County. The county purchased approximately twelve acres along Wicks Lake in 1969. The remaining property surrounding the lake is owned by two local timber companies. This project is for the acquisition of an additional 140 acres around the lake to protect the pristine environment and provide for outdoor recreational opportunities such as swimming, non-motorized boating, and hiking. Acquisition will include trail easements connecting the lake to nearby Square Lake State Park.
Location
From State Highway 16 (north from Tacoma or south from Port Orchard) take the Burley Olalla Exit and travel west on Burley Ollala Rd; turn south on Bethel Burley Rd; turn west on Pine Rd; turn north on Glenwood Rd.; turn west on Lake Helena Rd; turn north on Widk's Lake Rd.. Entrance to Wick's Lake is at the end of Wick's Lake Rd.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
