Western Pond Turtle
- Funded in 1991
Acquisition of approximately 120 acres of habitat for western pond turtles in Skamania and Klickitat Counties. Once common, the turtle is a state-listed threatened species, and acquisition of the last known habitat sites will help preserve and protect the species.
What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
