Wenatchee will use this grant to build two trailheads and a 4.1-mile trail connecting them. The Day Road Trailhead will include parking, signs, benches, garbage cans and landscaping. In addition to those ammenties, the Horse Lake Trailhead will include a toilet. The Foothills Trail system provides access to recreation for 54,000 residents and millions of tourists that frequent the region. Wenatchee will contribute $173,689 in donated labor and land.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
