This project will acquire 450 feet of waterfront in Allyn to provide a kayak launch point and public access to the beach. The property has 300 feet of sand/rock beach, which is ideal for hand launched crafts, swimming, and playing on the beach. The port will remove a house, shed, and 6 foot fence; build a small picnic shelter and unisex restroom; hook into the new sewer system; provide a path to the beach for greater access; install security lighting; and provide interpretive/educational signs with information on adjoining shore and tidelands. Acquisition is urgent as this is in a Urban Growth Area with sewers that will be completed in 2001.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
