Washougal River Trail - Camas Segment

Camas will use this grant to develop a segment of a regional trail in the 125-acre Washougal River Greenway. Work will include building about 1 mile of trail connecting to the Lacamas Heritage Trail, which extends north through Camas along Lacamas Creek and Lacamas Lake. The trail also will provide access to the Washougal River and three connected ponds, link neighborhoods south of the river to Camas’ city center and link to the 350-acre Lacamas Lake Regional Park, Goot Park and many other recreation areas. A viewpoint, picnic site, signs and trailhead parking will be added. The city will fund a bridge over the Washougal River for hikers and bikers in conjunction with a separate utility project. Camas will contribute $898,784.

Location

Drive east on 3rd Avenue from downtown Camas. The project site extends from 3rd Avenue Loop to Goot Park on the south side of the river.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
