Wagner Memorial Pool Renovation

This project in the small community of Twisp and provided much needed renovations to the Wagner Memorial Pool, bringing it up to date with safety and accessibility standards. The only public pool in the Methow Valley, it was built in 1966 with funds donated by the Wagner family. It is a popular summer recreation site and is used by the local swim team for training and meets. With this WWRP grant and a generous $250,000 bequest from the Wagner family, the pool was renovated. Renovation priorities included new mechanical systems; tank, deck and bathhouse improvements; addition of a wading pool, water slide, bleachers and lighting; and development of accessible bathrooms for use by pool and park users. Accomplishing the renovation allowed Twisp to again offer a wonderful summer recreation facility for local families and visitors.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
