Vista Park Expansion 98
- Status
- Funded in 2003
The port proposes to develop 15 acres in order to expand campground facilities at its Vista Park facility. The 70-acre park is on the Columbia River in Southwest Washington, near the town of Skamokawa. Vista Park is the only regional riverfront camping facility between I-5 and the Pacific Ocean. Because of this, it is often at or beyond capacity much of the summer camping months. This project adds RV, yurt, and tent camping sites on an undeveloped upland area with river views. Other project elements include a restroom with picnic shelter, access road and trails. This project is important to the Port to help alleviate a crowded camping facility and overflow camping that is occurring in the day use area.
Location
From Longview, west on SR 4 approximately 32 miles to the town of Skamokawa; turn left onto School Road and go 300 feet to enter Skamokawa Vista Park.
