The Oaks

The City of Battle Ground, located in Clark County, is requesting WWRP assistance to acquire 13.4 acres of land for community park purposes. The park site borders SR-503 and will provide access to Clark County’s regional trail system and two elementary and intermediate schools. With the prominent natural feature of a large stand of oak trees gracing its interior, the site is easily identified as The Oaks. Proposed improvements include trails, picnic tables, play equipment and play meadows. These park improvements will serve multiple neighborhoods in a rapidly growing residential area. The Battle Ground City Council established this site as a top priority in the city’s recently adopted comprehensive parks plan.

Immediately east of SR-503 approximately 300 feet north of the Maple Grove campus. 122nd Ave NE, north of 199th. No address assigned, however large park sign is viewable from SR-503.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
