This project will develop a neighborhood park in an area of Seattle that is very deficient in recreational opportunities. Two bleak acres of asphalt next to the TT Minor Elementary School will be replaced with a variety of improvements for active and passive recreation. Changes will include a turf field for soccer and softball, an ADA accessible children’s play area, ornamental landscaping, park furniture, art work, community gardens, walking paths, and a small parking area. This project is a joint effort between Seattle’s Central Area community groups, the Seattle Public School District, and the Seattle Parks Department. Planning and design has been carefully coordinated to ensure that the general public, as well as children from TT Minor, will have opportunities to use this public park.
