This development consisted of the expansion of a five-acre community park on the shores of Puget Sound. Project included improvements to the playground, restrooms, picnic areas, and park access. Project also included renourishment of the beach to help stabilize the beach and park shoreline.

Location

Sunnyside Beach is located on Chambers Creek Road, northeast of downtown Steilacoom. In Steilacoom, travel east on Lafayette which eventually becomes Chambers Creek Rd. Pay parking is available on the south side of the railroad tracks with the waterfront park proper on the north side of the railroad.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
