State Parks seeks to purchase the 218+ acre McLeary tract, contiguous to Sun Lakes/Dry Falls State Park in Grant County. The site is a priority in the 1998 State Parks and Recreation Commission approved Master Plan and the Classification and Acquisition Plan. The tract is needed to preserve the landscape character of the nationally significant Grand Coulee Landscape, associated with the Ice Age Floods. In addition, acquisition of this parcel will provide additional shoreline access to Park Lake, acreage for compatible recreation developments, and possible trail access routes to high plateaus overlooking the park and region.

The project is located adjacent to Sun Lakes/Dry Falls State Park and on the east shoreline of Park Lake in Grant County, Washington.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
