Steamboat Rock - Campground Expansion

State Parks will use this grant to develop 37 full-service campsites and 8 rustic cabin sites at Steamboat Rock State Park. Work also will include development of areas between current campsites. This park is a destination campground, registering the third highest occupancy rate in the state parks’ system. The existing campground is full in the summer, pushing some campers into undeveloped sites around the lake, causing environmental impacts.

From Wenatchee; travel North Rt. 97, turn right on Rt. 2 East, then cross Banks Lake bridge/dam to Coulee City, then North on Rt. 155 to Steamboat Rock State Park.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
