This key acquisition of 344.85 acres in the west half of Section 9 adds to the park and secures a recreation trail and wildlife corridor connecting Cougar, Squak, and Tiger Mountains of the ""Issaquah Alps"". This purchase completes a long-range plan to protect the physical intergrity of the corridor.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
