Skansie Brothers Park Acquisition

This one-acre property acquisition lies immediately south of Gig Harbor's Jerisich Park in Pierce County. The site will provide the only urban park with waterfront/boating access and upland recreation space. Combined, Jerisich and Skansie Brothers Parks will offer transient moorage, sewage pumpout services, restrooms, picnic area, as well as saltwater access for small watercraft and fishing activities. Skansie Brothers Park adds 102 waterfront feet and 121 feet of multipurpose uplands and tidelands to the Jerisich Park area which has no significant upland space. Planned improvements include walkways, park benches, picnic tables, and a covered open structure for community gatherings, events, and celebrations. The structure is a joint City and local Rotary Centennial project.

From Olympia take I-5 North, take the So. 38th St. Exit - Exit #132 - toward Gig Harbor/SR-16/Bremerton; Merge onto SR-16 West; Take the exit toward Gig Harbor/City center; Turn right onto Pioneer Way -- .64 miles; Turn left on Harborview Drive -- .10 miles.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
