Silverdale/Clear Creek Wetlands
- Status
- Funded in 1990
Acquisition of a rare old-growth Sitka spruce wetland just northeast of Silverdale in the lower basin of Clear Creek. This wetland is vital to the fisheries of the creek. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency listed it as the “top priority” for protection in a four-state region because of nearby urban growth.
What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
