SWPR Skate Park
- Status
- Funded in 2001
This project developed a skate park at the Community Park just outside of Langley. The skate park is approximately one quarter acre and includes several features ranging from pyramids, ramps, bowls and other smaller formations. The towns of Langley, Clinton, and Freeland have all passed laws prohibiting skateboards from town sidewalks and streets. The skate boarders, inline skaters, and bike riders had nowhere to go. The Rotary Club of South Whidbey along with other service organizations, businesses, and the Park and Recreation District joined together to help support this project.
Location
From Mulkiteo ferry, drive 3.8 miles west on 525 to the second stop light ( Maxwelton Road). Turn right on Maxwelton Road, go .07 of a mile and turn right. The site will be located inside the park at the volleyball court, just north of the Playground in the Park.
