State Parks will use this grant to acquire 30 acres approximately 2 miles south of the Port Townsend city center on the western shores of Port Townsend Bay. This acquisition will add and protect approximately 1000 feet of saltwater shoreline to Old Fort Townsend State Park. In addition to preserving riparian habitat on Port Townsend Bay, this acquisition will provide opportunities for walking, wildlife viewing and possibly camping.This grant is from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program.

From Port Townsend, take highway 20 south. Turn east on Old Fort Townsed Road. Property is adjacent to the parks northern boundary.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
