Richmond Beach Park Renovation
- Status
- Funded in 2007
Shoreline will use this grant to renovate Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, the city's second most used park. While the city is bordered by more than 3 miles of Puget Sound, this park provides the only public beach access. Work will include managing and replanting native habitat, adding a walkway lined with bollards to separate pedestrians from cars, planting to stabilize steep slopes, adding walkways and stairs, and creating new activity centers with trellises, interpretive signs, gathering places for sitting and dining, play equipment, renovated restrooms, new showers, and other elements. Two new overlooks will be added above the wetlands to provide views of the beach, mountains, and islands. Shoreline will contribute more than $2.7 million in cash and voter-approved bonds.
Location
From I-5 North or South, take the N 175th Street exit and head west. At Aurora Avenue N, turn right (north). Turn left (west) at N 185th Street. N 185th Street becomes Richmond Beach Road NW. From here, turn left (south) on 20th Avenue NW. From 20th Avenue NW you will enter the park.
