State Parks will use this grant to buy 120 acres to expand Pearrygin Lake State Park. The 584-acre camping park in the Methow Valley features expansive green lawns leading to 1.4 miles of waterfront on Pearrygin Lake. State Parks has been acquiring land during the past few years to expand its waterfront holdings and opportunities for trails. The land is north of a 184-acre golf course, which State Parks also is acquiring.

From Winthrop or Twisp, take the Eastside Winthrop-Twisp Road, then turn east on Bear Creek Road. Follow signs to Bear Creek Golf Course, approximately one mile.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
